On the Road (Day 7)
On the Road (Day 1) | Day 2 | Day 3 | Day 4 | Day 5 | Day 6 | Day7 | Back From Chiang Mai
This is my last night in Chiang Mai. It's already 10:45pm, and I'm just back to the guest house. I'm now getting online at the owner's place, so it costs me no cent :)
Last night I woke up quite a few times. It was raining cats and dogs outside, and I was worried about my meeting with Joan today. We were supposed to travel by motorbike together. The rain would ruin everything.
However, it was really a non-stop rain since yesterday evening. So this morning, Joan and I only visited a nearby school. Originally we planned to go to a school, which she taught before, and is located some distance away. After that, I asked her to just attend her church meeting. We cancelled the plan going to the ancient city, Wiang Kum Kam.
Before she left, I returned her the SIM card as well, so that it can benefit others next time.
The rain has really put me down, however I still tried to go out - to the streets I've never been to, to the IT City building when the rain got heavier, massage, non-stop eating and shopping. I really shopped till almost drop. I thought I can secure two 1000B notes, but I only managed to secure one.
However, spending my own money as I like is also a pleasure, isn't it?
Later I met someone at another night market I've never been to before. Got some useful information from her with regards to tour, which is too late for me but will be helpful for those who are visiting Chiang Mai. Will share the info later.
There is a flower festival here in Chiang Mai tomorrow, but I can't attend. However, some flower decorations have been up today, so I went to take a look, as well as photos.
My feet are very painful now, although they have got massaged this afternoon. The main reason is due to I wore slippers out today (scared of the rain and wet sport shoes).
Have just met 2 Switzerland girls at the guest house. They have just arrived today, and will be here for 2 months.
Am feeling little bit heavy-hearted to leave Chiang Mai. It's a nice place. At least I don't feel scared going out at night everyday, and it's kinda relaxed here.
Anyway, I also wish to go back being together with my friends, family, and work.
Since nobody will pick me up tomorrow from LCCT, I'll spend some time waiting at the airport for Zelvin's arrival (from Gold Coast). Have not been meeting him for quite some time. He suggested me to go directly to his house in Klang to stay for a day. I'm still thinking if I'm going to do that crazy thing.
This will be the last one for the "On the Road" series. Although tired I wish to make it complete, hence getting online to blog. Else if I wait till tomorrow, the feeling would have changed.
See you all in Malaysia soon.

Hate it when the weather is unkind when I am travelling. Spoils most of the plan for the day.
the rain in Chiang Rai was the 1st in 3 months. and normally in jan/feb, Chiang Mai does not rain. they said I'm lucky. I said I'm extraordinarily unlucky!! anyway, i couldn't control anything.
