Election Day in Sekinchan (2)

The election is finally over, though not all results are already known.
One of the voting centers - SK Seri Sekinchan.
My primary school, SJK (C) Yoke Kuan, was also a place to vote.
It's been the most special moment ever. Since people are coming back, we decided to have a combined birthday celebration for Kun and Chu, whose birthdays fall on 9th and 11th March respectively.
Prior to deciding the venue and time, someone mentioned that, the pre-requisite is, we must be at a place with television. Therefore we can keep ourselves updated with the election results.
We arrived at Leong's house at around 9pm. Most of the time, we were at the living room, together with a lot of his family members, staring at the television for election news. Later, we also got online to browse some websites for the latest updates.
I received a SMS from Feng, telling that merdekareview.com was down, and news were published via merdekareview.blogspot.com. When trying to access the 5 mainstream Chinese papers in Malaysia, almost all had their servers down. The same happens to chinese.cari.com.my.
Ultimately, merdekareview.blogspot.com and malaysiakini.com were the only choices for us.
PAS-related materials were hardly seen. This was one of the few.
Have you made up your mind who to vote?
We kept refreshing web pages. In front of us, we had a TV. Turning around, we had a PC, both for the election news.
Our mood and feeling fluctuated as the results were known, one after another. The most irritating was about the one, from losing by 83, became winning by 5000!!!
The comments for that particular post/news increased tremendously. We also put up ours to vent anger.
We talked, discussed, commented... finally we left the living room only 2.5 hours later. I don't think we have ever been so interested in politics :)
For Sekinchan, DAP won, as expected and wished.
When passing by the town center at around 1:30am, we saw people tidying up the banners and flags, mainly those of BN. The left ones belong to DAP.
The results this year have been kinda surprising. We even got news that there were riots in Klang, and we joked if we could leave Leong's place for home at late night. Nothing serious went on here.
This morning, when I saw the aunties uncles wearing the t-shirts, distributing free gifts whilst not forgetting to ask us vote for "the particular" party, I was wondering, if they knew what were they doing? Had they analyzed who's the most suitable candidate, or they just simply say anything for the money paid to them?
If you ask me, I'd only say, I found it quite unbelievable when the social order in Malaysia became extremely worse, when I came back from overseas after a few years. I thought, we should always improve, but apparently, that was not the case.
After today, is it possible to expect for a better change?

Haha, yeah, I didn't know I could get excited with election results. I also never expected I would live the day to see "political turbulence" in Malaysia. I had thought I would not see any change in the govt until the day I die.
as what the results have indicated, lots of ppl wanted a big change and it happened.
hopefully the 5 new state govts wld show what they cld do differently
with this result, it brought many many ppl to realise what election is all abt
kun, i would not have been that crazy if i was not together with u all. apparently i'm also easily affected by others :)
johnny, lets see. although we can't guarantee the new formation will definitely be better than the previous, anyway it's better than having no change from the existing unpleasant situation.
