Surprises Today

Incident One:

Yesterday, I spent few hours to analyze something, as the preparation for this morning's meeting with the internal R&D team. Before leaving company, I sent to boss for his review, feedback and opinion.

This morning, he had come out with a quite comprehensive presentation slide and led the meeting. I was quite impressed. If I used what I showed him for today's meeting, the outcome would be very different! I might have depressed the attendees.

Not to flatter but I've to say, he's fantastic.

I feel even sorry every time he apologizes. Like today, he said "sorry" coz he could only finish reviewing 20 pages of my proposal before he boarded the plane. His speed is much much more faster than me. I'm not qualified to hear any apology from him.

Incident Two:

When driving to work in the morning, I heard from radio that the rise of petrol price (which is to be announced today) might be 100%, which means double of the current RM1.92 per litre.

Photo quality is not so good coz it's captured using my mobile phone. I was THAT FREE to take photos! You can imagine the queue.

At the moment I received an SMS saying the new price is RM2.70 (not RM3.84), I felt a bit lucky. Sam did not understand why I had such thinking. I could just tell him, when we can't change the fact, we've gotta change our thinking.

This is one of the ways of seeing a bad thing positively. I hope I'm not wrong.

Incident Three:

Finally I'm able to call it a day at around 6pm. Who knows, due to the increase of petrol price, there were terrific jams along my way back, especially near the places with petrol station.

I left with the intention of taking dinner today. However I reached home after 8pm. I was already not eligible for any food as I follow the rule - not eating anything 4 hours before sleeping. I always assume my sleeping time to be 12am.

Jam? Why jam? The queues into petrol stations were long. Near the Kinrara, a car intending to go into the petrol station blocked the road. Coz of that WNK 8338 bloody car in deep blue colour, a lot of other cars could not move and there were honks here and there.

Space was incorrectly utilized! It's not wrong to queue for cheap petrol, but it's wrong to create a dead traffic!!

Till some people got down and scolded him, he finally moved his big ass away!

Incident Four:

Got in touch with a used-to-be very close friend these 2 days.

Tonight, he told me, after talking to me yesterday, he suddenly had a very strong urge to request something from his boss. Then, straight away he emailed his boss.

Without much expectation, he received a reply with positive answer. Due to the reason of "me as the trigger point", he couldn't wait to share the good news with me. I'm very glad for him and said "you can make a difference"!

Seems stupid but true! (I actually never think I can be so influential)

Thinking back the stories between us, I'm truly grateful that after lotsa twists and turns, ups and downs, we could still be good friends. The unaffected relationship is somewhat unbelievable, based on my past experiences.

Nowadays, I feel fortunate that nothing extraordinary has successfully happened between us. I can continue to tease and comment him, without considering too much; whilst he'll always start a conversation with "tell you something".

Don't worry, I'm not "thinking too much". I just want everything to retain as it is now.

Good to know that you got such attitude on the fuel increase. I bloged about it today myself.

Life still go on for most of us even with the hike. The one thats most effected would be the poor. Thats something I don't think the government tackled properly. There is no relief even for the disabled.

At the end of the day, the poor become much poorer and the rest of us live our almost as before albeit with a few less luxuries.

For me, I was thinking and still hoping that the amount of vehicle will reduce due to this and lesser TRAFFIC JAM~!!!! Then...... a good thing out of a "disaster"....

hi guys, if you ask me what i think about the rise, i'd say, people complain for a moment then will accept it.

there will not be less traffic jam, coz our transportation system is too lousy. you have no other way except driving.

however, we should feel grateful if the rise still doesn't kill us, compared to the lower-income categories.

I was on my way to Teluk Ramunia (the southern tip of peninsular) for work last night and the jam was just too terrible. Wherever there is a petrol station, there was jam. I mean, really really serious jam. We ended up taking about 6 hours from KL to Teluk Ramunia. About the fuel price hike, I totally agree with Haan. Globally, oil prices have been escalating. You can't change the situation, you just accept it. We should be grateful we could still cope with it.

I like when you say "when we can't change the fact, we've gotta change our thinking". Totally agree on that! And I dun bother to queue up that night.
