Loss of Money
It's been a week since the last update. Just to say to everybody that I'm still alive.
Broadband at home was down since last Thursday, due to heavy rain and the subsequent thunder/storm (not too sure as I was working at company that time). As a result, the router and modem were both spoiled. Then, I got a malfunctioned modem, which was replaced yesterday with another. But, still no internet access.
This morning, I called to TM again. The girl used more than 10 mins to retrieve my report, which really pissed me. I terminated the call and dialed again. As expected, the 2nd attendant (guy) would get a lot of GOOD WORDS from me.
Their working speed is really fabulous. If they were to work in my company, I doubt they can pass the probation. Not efficient at all.
I went to Cameron Highlands last weekend. It was a nice trip as I brought along my son, Siu Sig. Done a lot of makro shots even using my 18-55mm kit lens. Felt very satisfied. So these 2 nights, I was busy choosing and resizing the photos at home (Internet is not required).
On Monday, I was reluctantly attending a meeting till 10:30pm. When I walked to the carpark, it was almost empty, left only my car. Who knows, I failed to start the 20-year-old car. I called CV who was already out of the compound of office. He turned back. With the help from CV, Pristeen and SL, the car could be started and I could at least drive it home.
Tuesday morning, I was thinking to pay the mechanic a visit before coming to office, but I couldn't start the car again. I called them and they came to my place (not faraway). It took them quite some time to figure out what was wrong. When I started my journey to office, it was already about 11:30am. Gosh~~ Originally I left home at 8:30am...
When leaving the car repair shop, there was only RM4 left in my wallet, furthermore I still owed them RM10. The daughter of the boss was very kind to me. I went there for car repaid and got a big pack of free coffee from her. Later I brought the full bag to office and shared with my fellow colleagues.
I thought the car should be okay. I left office at around 8pm on Tuesday (coz I arrived very late in the morning).. but then.. it died again ~~~ from the carpark, I walked back to office with disappointments. People thought I went to office to start work only at 8pm :(
Kwan asked me if I wanted to go eating satay together with them, I said no, coz I had gotta follow CV's car back. Who knows, a group of them still went for dinner together. I got no choice but just to tag along. In short, that night I arrived home only around 11am. Really tiring. Then I edited my photos till 1:30am.
In Nov, I've been spending a lot:
- RM750 for Siu Sig (a 70-300mm Sigma lens)
- RM60 for a new modem
- RM130 for a wireless router
- RM503 for car-repair at 2 mechanic shops
RM1,443 in total~~ huh...
Till date, my car is already okay. Tuesday night, while having to go dinner with others, I texted my ex-colleague uncle, Soon Soon. He introduced me someone at Kota Kemuning and I met with the guy yesterday. They spent around 5 hours to get everything settled.
At night, I was able to go for badminton!! Soon Soon called me to check the updates... I told him all the repairs made and how much I was charged. It was an okay price, I assume, as I checked with my elder brother also, before agreeing to change the most expensive thing.
Was not sure why was I truly bad luck and was "awarded" such a lot of opportunities to spend money. Luckily it's still okay for my salary to cover all these "accidents". Also, as I always say, when bad luck comes, we see the good people around, who are to be appreciated.
Soon Soon still likes to tease me, since the last time I met him (on 18/7/2008, during his birthday, I met him for breakfast). And he still speaks the same sentence - go buy a new car lah.
New car? No.. I'm using this for a few more months. No point going for a new one.
