Still in Jakarta, the partner's office.

Flew to Jakarta yesterday, together with 2 colleagues - the development colleague, YS, and the project manager, BL. Was the first time that we did not have to work after AC's (my/our boss) arrival.

Our first project kickoff in 2009. The empty seat was mine. We were the presenters.

This round, it took place at the Intercontinental Hotel, Jakarta.

He just came over to get his notebook adapter and my mobile phone charger from me, then fixed the time to meet this morning. After doing some final reviews (on my own) on the presentation slides and read a few pages of book, I went to sleep at around 10pm (local time - 11pm in Malaysia).

This round, I do not bring along my DSLR, and everybody was so surprised and asked why. I think I've set myself a 'wrong image' to my fellow colleagues :P

I just bring along my Sony Compact Cybershot P72, the model launched in 2003. I thought there should be not much for me to shoot, after coming here many times. Who knows, today's buffet lunch at the Intercontinental Hotel was so damn nice... I borrowed YS's Sony compact to shoot a few (I didn't bring mine to the lunch).

Chocolate cake. I tried one. The cream made me feel guilty after eating :P

AC: Why don't you bring along your son (DSLR)?
WH: Scared that you don't like me doing so and comment.
AC: Are you ever scared of my comment?

Die... this is how my boss sees and treats me, as a result of me teasing him too often. But when talking about work, I'll always be serious.

Everyone had an enjoyable lunch!

AC: Come sit here, we design the doc better.
WH: Oh.. (walking over).. You don't ask me to pretend to be a dog.. then ok... (你唔好叫我扮狗就得啦)
AC: You... don't bark...

Boss tortures me, or I bully boss?

Previously, he did ask me to come for the kickoff by myself. Was truly scared that time. This is a project which I feel is difficult but others feel is easier than what I handled before. The many types of hardware, ports and configurations are the things that can make me faint. Never good in these aspects.

But with him around, nothing can't be solved. I think the customers are also amazed of his ability (me too, even after coming out together with him many rounds). He could quickly come out with a diagram of the customer's existing system architecture after their elaborations, when I was still like having NO IDEA (too much to digest). Even the customers themselves did not have a documentation of their network.

Wanted to try... but really no more room to fit them.

Not exactly sure what fish is this. There were oysters from Australia too! There was none during my photo session.. so, missed them.

Chinese style, Dim Sums.. none of us ate these! Not sure delicious or not.

I should also change my attitude. I should find out things crystal clear whenever having a question/query. I should not think that "it's okay, with AC around, he'll surely give me a hand when I face problem".

Should change my attitude, ASAP. Else am always too dependant on him. He has got few comments on my performance today, but not harsh. Good for me to take note for improvement.

Will be flying back to KL tomorrow night, should touch down around 10pm. During the day tomorrow, might do a site visit at the customer's place. Otherwise, I think time will be spent HERE again in the partner's office.
