Cultural Visits in Ubud

On the second day in Bali, we started our day at 9am, by meeting the driver we called the day before. His name is Yik. The transport that day was USD 25.

Don't ask me what car is this. I've no idea. Car is not my thing.

We actually had our own plan. Before leaving the hotel, Simpang Inn, we showed him our itinerary. He commented that the places in list are too few, and he would drive us to more places.

He suggested to bring us to some factories to see cultural stuff, coz for the rest of Ubud, we could tour by motorcycle later. We accepted his suggestion, though we originally planned to have these visits only when we stay in Ubud.

First stop was a batik factory.

It's hand made.

This guy got addicted so quickly?

At the other end, we saw some painting was going on, then we went over.

This bag looks nice.. can't have it so let me shoot a photo of it.

The next stop was about stone carving.

Sorry to say, I didn't find it very interesting, although I'm as stubborn as stones.

I found wood carving more interesting. However, I mean just see them with eyes. To buy any and bring back to Malaysia, that is too troublesome.

For this, there is no need to ask "beauty or beast" :P

Next, it was art glass manufacture. We visited gold and silver production too, but those are totally boring to me. Therefore I feel there is nothing to mention here.

These are fragile, so no need to buy...

but you can play around then leave!

Sometimes I could be a little artistic, but most of the time I'm pretty realistic. Although something may look nice, but if it's for decoration purpose only, please... don't invite something that collects dust.

Therefore, I do not like to receive decorative stuff as present. I label them as "useless" items :)
