One day meeting today, morning and afternoon sessions. Another one in the morning tomorrow, then will head to the airport. According to the info obtained today, I guess... the life of traveling frequently to Jakarta will just continue...
Can you figure out what happens in the following picture?
You see a lot of people hitchhike near the roadside, and most of them are women carrying a baby (sorry, not clear in this image).
This is because in Jakarta, there is a rule, where during busy hours, one car must have more than 2 people (except taxi). Otherwise, the driver will be fined. Therefore, these people "offer help" to such drivers. One woman, one baby, easily contribute to 2 head counts.
When arriving at the destination, the driver needs to pay them money. This is another way of earning living in Jakarta.
My boss arrived in Jakarta in the afternoon. After finishing all tasks at the client's office, we took an early dinner at Saung Grenvil. Dedy drove us there. The road is quite bumpy on the way to the seafood restaurant, and it's an easily flooded area.
There were big fat crabs. AC is choosing one.
Live seafood for your selection.
No joke, they are really fat.
Choosing a fish.
Getting some prawns. He looks serious yet careful.
Young Sagi, Dedy on the left. "More matured" Sagi, PL on the right.
We started to be served with these. I ate only 2 prawns (Udang Pancet Rebus - 52,500 Rp or USD 5.25) and none of the seashells (Kerang Darah Rebus - 23,500 Rp or USD 2.35).
I didn't touch this at all... heard is spicy and nice. Kepiting Jantan, 129,500 Rp or USD 13.
My coconut, Kelapa Utuh, 10,000 Rp or USD 1.
I ate 0.5 of this. Udang Pancet Jumbo, 40,000 Rp or USD 4.
I ate this the most, my favourite steamed fish (Hong Kong style). Kerapu Lada Hidup, 120,000 Rp or USD 12. I felt it's too salty, but AC disagreed.
They ordered this to eat together with the crab gravy. Fried Mantau, 10,000 Rp or USD 1.
Say bye to big fat crab.
Don't know why, didn't feel very eager to eat these stuff. I wish to eat only simple and plain food. Not too spicy and will not cause any negative implication to my skin and health. Therefore, just SEE instead of tasting each of them.
We actually ordered another plate of vege, which I finished most of it. When writing this post, only I realized, I forgot to photograph it. Despite the "just okay" appetite, while talking about photography, I'm always energetic. These photos were taken using my 6 years old Sony Compact, Cybershot DSC-P72.
You can't find it in the market already :)
