If you look at other well establised democracy like the UK for example. No government has as high a majority as ours. When a government is too strong it will not be efficient since there is no alternative voice to voice out discontent.<BR/><BR/>For the past 50 years, our country had progressed significantly that I agree BUT not as much or as well as other countries. For example the economy of Malaysia (which has 400x the land mass and 6x the population of singapore) is only 10% higher then Singapore. It is projected that in a mere 7 more years, Singapore would surpass malaysia's economy. <BR/><BR/>Another example, in 1966 our average income is 3x that of south koreans (US390 compared to US300).
